About artist Hilary K Oswald
With an early interest in creating unique designs and objects from the often overlooked and discarded, Hilary transforms them into fully-redeemed works of beauty. Her skill at metamorphing overlooked potential only grew as she went on to study art at Miami University in Oxford, OH, pursuing a triple major in painting, printmaking, and sculpture and minoring in German, where she studied in Heidelberg.
After graduating, Hilary took to wide array of creative and not-so-creative gigs as a muralist, florist, and after-school arts director, which brought her into contact with other contemporaries that she introduced to many young minds.
Hilary and her husband eventually moved to Cincinnati where she could pursue her dream of working as a retail display artist for Anthropolgie. She loved the way she could use her unique and varied talents to create breathtaking installation pieces for the inside of her store that dazzled the eyes and captured the imaginations of shoppers. Her talent soon brought opportunities to help open Anthropologie stores around the country.
After several years, an opportunity arose to work as the lead display artist for the Magnolia Silos in Waco, Texas. Hilary is privileged to work with an incredible team of artists and creatives. Her displays and art range from the subtle and quiet, to the floral and colorful. She also creates original works of art as seen on HGTV’s season 5 of Fixer Upper.
She currently lives in Waco, Texas with her husband artist Sean Oswald and her daughter Beatrice working as the lead display artist for the Magnolia Silos.
